CHCS offers sports because we believe that sports can play a pivotal role in assisting students in maturing in their faith as well as learning important life lessons. The slogan for CHCS athletics is “Fun to play but hard to beat.”
“Fun to play” places the emphasis on displaying a Christ-honoring attitude from our athletes, coaches and fans. For many visitors, not only the first impression, but the only impression they will have of our school is an athletic or academic competition. It is imperative that we demonstrate the unity of Christ through our own teams’ fellowship and the love of Christ to those who are visiting from other schools.
“Hard to beat” is second to “Fun to play.” It is our intention to compete with excellence in any activity in which we are participating. We train to win. However, the price of winning at all costs is too high. There are costs that we are not willing to pay to win. Since our sports programs are competitive in nature, the athletes having the greatest skills represent the school. These students must also display Christian character and be in harmony with the mission of the school. All playing decisions are at the discretion of the coaching staff.
College Heights Christian School has been an active member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association since 1997. CHCS joined the Spring River Valley Conference in 2008.
