Diplomas at CHCS

  

The CHCS College Preparatory Diploma requirements meet the expectations for a college preparatory diploma from the state of Missouri. Furthermore, the CHCS Honors Diploma requirements surpass state expectations. Only students who achieve the honors diploma are considered for valedictorian and salutatorian status.

College Preparatory

26 total credits consisting of

4 credits in Bible
4 credits in Literature & Composition
3 credits in Social Science
3 credits in Mathematics
3 credits in Natural Sciences
1 credit in a Foreign Language
½ credit in Computer
½ credit in Practical Arts
½ credit if Speech
1 credit in Fine Arts
1 credit in Physical Education
4 ½ credits in other electives courses

Honors

26 total credits consisting of

4 credits in Bible
4 credits in Literature & Composition
3 credits in Social Science
4 credits in Mathematics
3 credits in Natural Sciences
2 credits in a Foreign Language
½ credit in Computer
½ credit in Practical Arts
½ credit if Speech
1 credit in Fine Arts
1 credit in Physical Education
1½ credits in other electives courses

The honor student must have a CGPA of 3.5 and a "B" or better (both semesters) in one AP course and three Honors courses with the above requirements.

Honors courses may be chosen from Trigonometry/Math Analysis, AP Calculus, Anatomy, Physics, AP Biology, Honors US History, and AP English Literature & Composition.
