Jamie Lorimer has been a superlative educator at an elementary level for eleven years. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University in 2002, a Master of Science degree in Educational Media Design and Technology from Full Sail University in 2014, and will finish her PhD in Instructional Design and Technology in 2018. She has taught first grade, pre-kindergarten, reading, fourth grade, fifth grade, and is currently the Library Media and Technology Specialist. Her teaching career has afforded her many professional development opportunities. She is eMINTS certified; eMINTS (enhancing Missouri's Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies) is an initiative designed to inspire educators, engage students, and enrich teaching, a Level 2 Google Educator, an Apple Teacher, and is certified in conducting observations with the Effective Learning Environments Observation Tool (eleot) and Instructional Practices Inventory (IPI). All this is done with the understanding that: "Today's students demand learning tasks that challenge and stimulate them as they use technology tools to acquire knowledge and skills for the 21st century." Her goal is to combine her lifelong ambition to positively impact students’ lives with her career aspirations. She will fulfill this goal by increasing technology integration in the classroom through training educators, exponentially increasing the ability to positively impact students’ lives. She aspires to bring the ideals of technology integration into the forefront as a learning theory, in addition to instructing developing future educators. Outside of her profession, she and Brian were married in 2002 and they have four children. Other than spending time with her family, she enjoys jeeping, cooking, creating technology projects, refinishing furniture, sewing, and playing video games.
