Missions Week 2018: March 11-17
CHCS will celebrate their annual Missions Week from March 12 -16, 2018. This week is dedicated to serving others, and directly complements the school’s mission of developing servant leaders with a Biblical worldview.
Two groups comprised of Juniors and Seniors are traveling internationally. In Mexico they will partner with Youth With A Mission in outreach to local children and villages. In Costa Rica they will work with new church plants and school programs. A third group will travel to Red Bird Mission Work Camp in Beverly, Kentucky, to assist Appalachian low-income residents with home repair and other projects. Another group will travel to Arlington, Texas to assist Mission Arlington through participating in apartment churches, leading backyard Bible clubs at multiple apartment complexes, and a variety of work projects. Additionally, a group of freshmen students will travel to Ozark, Arkansas, to provide outreach services to the rural economically challenged community by completing physical labor projects and hosting children’s programs.
Additionally, 50 High School students and sponsors will canvas the community of Joplin to serve at Rapha House, Crosslines, God’s Resort, Neighborhood Life House, and area nursing homes. The students are divided into groups with teacher/staff supervisors. Their purpose is to serve the people and help the organization in any way they are needed.
