NHS & CHJHS New Inductees

On Monday, October 3rd, several new members were inducted into the CHCS chapter of National Honor Society.   The students’ selection into the chapter is based on four criteria: Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service and includes a lengthy application with review from faculty council.  NHS welcomed (from the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes): Hannah Bagley, James Calandro, Xi Chen, Matt Gao, Nathan Hardy, Myles Jackson, Claire Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Ryan Karry, Lainey Miller, Josh Painter, Jack Roberts, Bennett Satterlee, Annie Secker, Will Secker, and Sam Spaulding.

Additionally, inducted into our College Heights Junior Honor Society were: Taegan Fink, Becky Gong, Emily Griesemer, Avery Jones, Mazie Slinkard, Emily Welch, Katie White, and JC Wright. These students represent our Middle School and include students from 7th to 9th grades.

In order to fulfill the scholarship requirements of National Honor Society and College Heights Junior Honor Society a student must be a student at CHCS for one semester and have an exemplary school record.  Each student must also maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4-point scale.

These individuals exhibit leadership and are resourceful, good problem solvers, promoters of school activities, idea-contributors, dependable, and persons who exemplify positive attitudes about life.

They are students who are servants and have made voluntary contributions to the school or community, without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit.

These students are of good character, uphold principles of morality and ethics, are cooperative, demonstrate high standards of honesty and reliability, shows courtesy, concern and respect for others and maintain a godly lifestyle.
